🐣 Exciting news in 2nd grade!
Our second graders have officially hatched their first baby chicks as part of their embryology unit. Students have been learning about the life cycle of chickens and observing how a chick grows inside the egg.

Watching the chicks hatch was an unforgettable hands-on science moment! The classroom is buzzing with excitement as students see their learning come to life. 🐥

Learning through real experiences helps our students connect science concepts to the world around them!

Ms. Sinclair’s class is wrapping up their science unit on “Natural or Human-Made” with a colorful hands-on activity! 🌼🎨

Students created human-made flowers using paint and their handprints to show how people can design and create things inspired by nature.

The bright blooms are also a cheerful way to say goodbye to winter and hello to spring! 🌷☀️

Learning is always more fun when creativity and science come together!

We are so proud of our EPS second graders who participated in the Student Showcase at NCTIES today! Our students shared their project “Wired Entomology: Metamorphosis from Caterpillar to Code,” where they combined science, creativity, and coding to demonstrate how technology can help bring learning to life. Using tools like micro:bits and robotics, they explored the life cycle of insects while building and programming their own interactive models. These young innovators represented Elizabethtown Primary School so well and showed how curiosity, teamwork, and problem-solving can transform ideas into amazing projects. Way to go, Dolphins! 🐬 We are incredibly proud of you!

Our 1st graders became history detectives during an interactive online scavenger hunt all about African American inventors! 🕵🏽‍♀️💡 Students explored kid-friendly digital clues to discover inventions that changed our world — from safer elevators to improved medical tools and everyday devices we still use today. As they worked through each challenge, they practiced: 🔎 Research skills 💻 Technology navigation 🧠 Critical thinking 🤝 Collaboration The excitement was contagious as students uncovered hidden messages, solved clues, and learned how innovation and perseverance helped shape history. We love creating engaging, hands-on (and minds-on!) experiences that make learning come alive while honoring the incredible contributions of African American leaders and inventors. ❤️💛💚
